Urban regeneration

The regeneration of run-down urban areas usually affects townscape of historic significance. Retaining the best of the area’s historic buildings and street pattern can be vital to the creating a real sense of place, and an attractive, viable new development.  Working with the developer and their design team, AHP contributes to the early stages of  area regeneration projects. We provide the historical and architectural understanding  about an area or a group of buildings, to inform decisions about what should be retained in future development. We can also provide PPS5 statements and Environmental Impact Assessments, as part of the planning process.
