Public inquiries

All AHP directors have experience of appearing at public inquiries. Most recently, AHP acted as expert witness for the local authority at a public inquiry into a new Tesco store in Halesworth, Suffolk. The proposed store and associated car parking, on the edge of this historic market town, was considered likely to have had a damaging effect on the setting of the conservation area, several highly graded listed buildings and some locally listed buildings. In a judgement issued in July 2010, Tesco's appeal was dismissed and the council's decision to refuse planning permission upheld.
