Late in 2007 AHP produced an appraisal of this former courthouse to provide its owners with information about its architectural and historical significance, and to accompany an application for listed building consent or planning permission.
This Grade II building was constructed in the early 20th century to designs by Henry Littler, the County Architect. Empty since 1998, the former courthouse needed a new use and significant investment to bring it back to life. The owner now has permission to convert it into a restaurant. The new scheme will incorporate the original magistrates' bench, pictured above.
