Service stair in Georgian town house

In 2019 AHP gave written evidence at an appeal against refusal of a proposal to adapt a cantilevered stone service stair in a Grade II Georgian town house in order to install a glass lift. As well as being an original feature of a house designed by an architect of national significance, the stair is of evidential value as part of the social history of the building. The appeal was dismissed, after which the client praised AHP's 'wonderful, comprehensive report' and 'outstanding knowledge and empathy with the house structure and aesthetic'.
