Conservation area appraisals
AHP has completed a number of conservation area appraisals for different borough councils in England. Our work is now also starting to focus on assessments of conservation areas classified by English Heritage as 'at risk'. For example, we recently completed an assessment of 157 conservation areas across the north west of England, including 131 conservation areas included in EH's 2009 Heritage at Register and an additional 26 conservation areas at risk selected for inclusion in the 2010 Register, to be launched in June. AHP's objective was to provide English Heritage North West Regional Team with independent, consistent information on conservation areas at risk, to assist in decision-making and advice to local authorities.
